Description
The note in the scans and photo is the exact note that the high bidder will receive. This Z,000 denomination, P-72, seems to be the one true rarity among the various banknotes in the Z0-trillion series, the "third do
llar." Even though the P-72 was released at the same time as the P-73 Z,000 denomination, it seems that almost the entire print run circulated, usually pretty heavily. Other Zimbabwe denominations tended to become obsolete while there were still lots of notes sitting unused, but not these.
This is why this note is so prized by collectors be better condition. The uncirculated Z,000 sells for multiples of even the notorious Z0-trillion.
For the collector who wants a complete uncirculated set, even a better used note like this one makes a good placeholder until they can afford an uncirculated one.
Note that I've seen some of these notes sold as "error notes" because the watermark with the Zimbabwe bird shows a denomination of "1000." That's not an error. ALL of the Z,000 notes of this series, as well as all the Z-million notes, were printed on leftover paper stock from the Z,000 bill. Don't be fooled! This is a rare note because this denomination was largely used up in circulation, but it's not a rare error note!
Finally, if you're interested in getting your hands on an uncirculated copy of this note, I will auction one off here on Ebay. That auction starts on 3 August with an opening bid of .99 and no reserve. Good luck!
