    Description

Elegant rare antique sterling silver knob probably from the late 1800s. Etched intricate front features delicate fabric-like striping pattern, encircled by an ornate vine-and-ribbon design, and a cartouche medallion ribbons-and-flowers- monogrammed with an M or W. The word ‘sterling’ and the numbers/letters 3020B24 are stamped on the perimeter of the base.
This is a one-of-a-kind piece. Condition is excellent, details are overall sharp, with slight wear commensurate with its age. Maker is unknown. The remains of a glass stem are inside the base. I'm not sure if it's a cane handle or door knob. I'm confused by the glass inside. If you know. Please feel free to e-mail me. Thanks.
