    Description

    This kit contains the following:
1 Proper size, Factory correct, Lifetime belt. A must for proper tape speed and longevity.
1 Bottle of synthetic parts and motor oil. Best lubricant for this task.
1 Battery door replacement foam seal. Old seals are filling your player with powder.
2 Heat shrink tubing for red and black battery wire connections. Easy reconnect after cleaning.
1 Proper grey light abrasive plastic case cleaner sponge.
1 Red heavy abrasive pad for Battery springs, Tabs, and Capstan shaft.
    1 tube of DeOxit.
Professional cleaning is achieved by complete removal of running gear from the plastic case.
The red and black battery wires must be cut, leave enough room to splice them later.
Remove running gear, transformer, speaker etc. in one cluster.
Apply scotch tape for protection to serial numbers and motor date.
Just leave this tape on permanently or numbers will come off.
Proper case cleaning is done from emersion in soapy water, scrubbing and rinsing.
Use the grey pad for general case cleaning.
If you case is badly scratched you can use the red pad all over,
it gets the rough stuff out, but changes the finish.
Running gear is cleaned carefully by hand, keeping electronics dry.
Compressed air and a tooth brush are always helpful in the cleaning, drying process.
Adjust tape entrance door to its perfect position and lightly oil.
You may have to carefully Wet, Clean, and Rinse the track changing mechanism.
Track changing mechanism should be oiled on springs and shafts.
Remove and replace old belt. Now is the time to oil the motor shaft.
Oil moving parts lightly, with springs as well.
If motor is stiff or locked, more oil, and work back and forth.
Head and capstan should be cleaned and demagnetized at this point.
Both volume controls should have a shot of Deoxit and worked back and forth.
I use compressed air to blow out the volume pots, reapply Deoxit and more back and forth.
    Deoxit the contacts and the
    receptacle prongs.
Removing the pinch roller spring gets you access to the capstan and shaft.
I resurface the capstan shaft with the red scotch Bright.
Make sure to get teflon washer back on shaft before installing.
Use a drop of synthetic oil on top of the old white grease.
Make sure you get the channel wheel in its proper position and fastened correctly.
Strip battery wires, slide on shrink tubing, twist battery wires and melt shrink.
Always allow complete drying before any testing.
This kit is a jump start to a very nice restoration.
This task requires a certain level of skill, patience and basic tools.
Keep this in mind before your purchase.
    Thanks
