    Description

    Very, very RARE 1824/2 JR-2 R5 Capped Bust dime, PCGS VF details, code 97 for corrosion removed.  In over 25 years of searching, we've never cherrypicked a 24-2 in any grade.  And, it's easy to do, in the sense that this is an easy variety to ID.  Thus, we have a huge amount of respect for this variety.  This coin has it's issues to be sure, but we are not clear at all on the "removed" part of PCGS' opinion.  Clearly, the coin is less than smooth due to environmental factors, but we think that's as far as this goes.  Under a 10x glass, we see nothing that would be properly described as "removed".  Regardless, this is one of the highest grade JR-2's known, and will surely find a happy home with one lucky collector very soon!  Perhaps that collector should really be you.
